The National Iota Foundation (Iota), partnered with Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc., and Peelian Community Solutions endeavors to be a recognized leader in the promotion of social, economic and educational justice/equality for the citizens of United States and the Globe. This desire to lead and unite the people of the world compels these groups to take an active role in facilitating networking opportunities for community leaders and law enforcement to significantly improve the relationship between the two groups, and to improve race relations in general.
The BRIDGE Initiative is modeled after the work of the Race and Cultural Relations Leadership Network, the Community Resource Team, and the work of Peelian
Community Solutions in Indianapolis, IN.
The BRIDGE Initiative seeks to form joint community/law enforcement task forces in cities and states across the United States with the intent to outline short and long term actions that enhance community/law enforcement relationships. As an umbrella initiative, BRIDGE encompasses a wide range of long-term relationship/engagement efforts designed to address and improve race relations and police/community relations
The BRIDGE Initiatives will facilitate the meetings and problem solving sessions utilizing tools/systems like A3 Problem Solving and/or Kaizen. The BRIDGE will assist the task force in the development of RACI’s, Steps to Milestones, etc.
The “end goal” is to have specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time bound action items for both community and law enforcement representatives that promote improved group and community relations
